Our history.
In 1865 Robert Flockenhaus founded a chemical laboratory in Berlin – “merchant and chemist”, as the 1871 directory calls him. From the start, colours were made to our own formulations. The business became known for Nopp-Flock: colours that make weaving faults invisible – fast to washing, pressing and ironing.
In 1920 the business moved to Fulda, to the laboratory at “An der Waides 2”. Here the NOPP FLOCK (1936) and Fixon (1983) brands were created – and a few shades grew into a range of more than 7,000. Michael Kotzyba has led the company since 1995.
For more than 160 years the principle has remained the same: our own formulations, our own colours, our own brands. What began as applied colour chemistry is now used worldwide.

Our products are based on formulations we developed ourselves. They are continuously improved and adapted to current technical requirements.
Colours not shown on our colour cards are produced to match fabric samples you send us.
